Overview

Phonon Diagnostics Technique (PDT) is a cutting-edge technique in the NDT market. It enables real-time inspection of pipelines, tanks and vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, offshore platform legs and their equipment, risers and more, without interfering with the operating process. PDT detects metal loss, leaks and cracks as they happen.

PDT was first used in 1973 in the Soviet military industry, to test nuclear submarines at the SEVMASH plant in Severodvinsk, Russia. In 1997 DIATECH acquired the patent and introduced the technique for commercial use.
